Health Problems of Sleep Deprivation
Each person have to sleep 7 hours at least per day, if not getting the required sleep may causes to so many health problems.
- If don't get enough sleep, human body releases stress Harmon known as Cortisol. Cortisol is one of the steroid hormone present in Adrenal gland. It can help to control blood sugar levels, reduce inflammation and assist with memory formulation. It also helps to keep the skin smooth and elastic. In women, Cortisol supports to develop the fetus during in pregnancy. If high amount of Cortisol can break down skin collagen which leads to sallow skin, puffy eyes, dark circles under the eyes etc., high Cortisol levels leads Anxiety and depression.
- Our immunity system helps to release the Proteins called Cytokines which are helps to good sleep. Sleep deprivation can decrease the production of Cytokines.
- It weakens the ability of Brain. Limbic system (Hippocampus, Amygdala along with Hypothalamus to form) is responsible for emotions like Anger, Sad, Cry, Sorrow etc.,
- Decrease the Antibodies/Resistance cells which fights with infections.
- Sleep deprivation effects to low release of Insulin from pancreas which leads to increase of Type II Diabetes.
- High Blood pressure.
- Obesity.
- Heart diseases.
- Road Accidents may occur at the time of travelling due to Sleep deprivation.
- Low concentration.
- Hormonal imbalance.
